If the answer to all these interrogatives is a yes then remember that while travelling the safety of your dog rests with the fact that how will you transport it? Travelling of humans is not the same as animals. They have their own requirements and needs that need to be fulfilled. If the pet is not at ease while travelling it would ruin your entire vacation. To ensure that the animal is safe you can take the following actions:
1. If you have a small dog then the airline would allow you to carry it along with you in the cabin. Usually the airline rules suggest that the dog must not weigh more than 20 pounds. As far as the size is concerned the dog must be small enough to fit under the seat. It is also important to know that you can only take a certain number of pets along with you.
2. If your dog is too big to meet the size and weight standards of the airline then the airline would suggest you to use the cargo facility. The pet owners are not very happy with this. Every year a number of pets are misplaced or injured while travelling in the cargo. Discuss the various concerns before sending the pet to cargo. Use a permanent ID card. Neither gives the dog any sedative nor feed it for 4 to 6 hours prior to flight.
3. Some companies are just meant for transporting the animals and especially the dogs. They ship the pets through freight. These companies gave different rates according to the kind of the animal and the destination. Many pet owners find this option more secure than sending the animal in cargo. The agency is told about the time you will reach the destination and they will manage to send the pet by that time too.
4. If you have enough budgets and there is nothing that is satisfying you then it is better to get a chartered plane. The plane is hired according to the number of people travelling and the expenses. Although the charter companies also need some details but still it is not as difficult as it is in case of the commercial planes.
